Wanchese, North Carolina
Mid-Atlantic Service…in the Outer Banks
Set amid the 60 acre Wanchese Seafood Industrial Park, Bluewater Outer Banks was built in 2005 inside the Outer Banks around Oregon Inlet. Fueled by the successes of the Virginia yard and a need to expand, the location was chosen for its accessibility both to cruising snowbirds and sportfish chasing the bite. The facility includes a 65 foot tall, 6,750 square foot modern paint building and an adjacent 6,000 square foot facility with service bays and welding, cabinetry, mechanical and electrical shops. Set on 5 acres the yard boasts ample room for standard maintenance, storage, as well as a strategic haven for hurricane haul-outs. With ample clearance, the new “tallest building in Dare County” can house and paint a fully towered sportfish, or build you one from the hull up.
